Canoeing and kayaking are popular activities along Houston’s bayous, including Greens Bayou, where avid canoers travel a nine-mile stretch from below Brock Park to Greens Bayou Park. Houston Parks Board has acquired approximately five acres to develop a canoe launch park near the intersection of Greens Bayou Street and Dwight Street, just north of Interstate 10. GBCC is currently in the design/fundraising stage for this project. South Reach Committee members have offered to volunteer their time to clear the site in the coming year.
