The East Reach of Greens Bayou spans from the Union Pacific Railroad, just east of US 59 to US 90, making up much of northeast Houston. The East Reach is largely comprised of residential development with a great deal of natural vegetation covering the watershed.

Greens Bayou Wetland Mitigation Bank is a major asset of the East Reach. This 1,400-acre wetland project combines wetland creation, floodwater management and natural stormwater runoff treatment through wetlands.

• The GBCC is working with El Dorado Utility District to convert a dry bottom detention basin into wet bottom detention basin.
• Reach members are working to incorporate a local church’s plan for a meditation garden into the watershed’s master plan.
