Tree Giveaway at EAD's Dia de los Muertos Fall Festival
Time & Location
About The Event
CenterPoint Energy will be giving away trees with The Coalition at East Aldine District's Dia de los Muertos Fall Festival. Limit 1 tree per family while supplies last. We will have a booth at the festival handing out five-gallon trees waiting to be planted at your home. Species variety include: Live Oak, Mexican White Oak, Pecan, Red Maple, and Chinese Fringe
The Festival will be full of color and life-affirming joy! Dia de los Muertos is a holiday that originated in Mexico, but is a day celebrated throughout Latin American dedicated to remembering passed friends and family members. There will be a traditional ofrenda (or altar), vendors, a DJ, raffles, face painting, live music and dancers, a kids costume contest and prize for best decorated booth! Families can enjoy food trucks (for individual purchase), join in the arts and crafts, and take home trees to plant! The festival will close with a traditional ceremony.
